Pets With Cancer ![]() At Arthur's Dog House this ugly thing call cancer has crept into our pet's lives. I never dreamed that our pet's would need us so much, or that we could even help them! Just this year two of our pets were diagnosed with cancer or had symptoms of cancer. The end of January 2015, Zoe our dog was diagnosed with with a mass on her spleen that had started to bleed. Then in July 2015 our cat, Alley was having other health problems. She was getting sick all the time and our vet said that's normal, I was not happy with the answer. She could no longer keep canned or dry cat food down and was losing even more weight. So I tried a recipe, she liked it and was keeping the food down. We decided to take her to see a different vet. I explained what I was feeding her and why, he listened to me. He said right away, if this has been going on for years. It sounds like a slow growing cancer of her gastrointestinal tract. With the food I was making for her, it gave her a little over a year longer. Then it progressed into the terminal stages. You are the biggest advocate for your pet! If your vet is not listening to you or doesn't have time for you, it's time to find a new one. No vet could have helped Alley, the prognosis for cat's with cancer is poor. But we understood and it all started to make sense, why she could not keep food down. Alley passed two months after we found out why she was getting sick all the time, she lived to be 12 years old. We still continue to help Zoe in the fight of her life. We have added a link to Alley Cats Cancer Recipe that helped her to live a longer life. If you know a cat lover share this article with them.
