Hot Dog Treats
1 pound of turkey hot dogs.
Cut all the hot dogs in to 1/8 inch or thin slices. (You can use an egg slicer to make uniform slices, or just a sharp knife.)
Place on a layer of paper towels on a microwave-safe plate. Lay the slices so that they don't overlap. Cover with another layer of paper towels. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Remove from microwave and let cool for five minutes. Return to the microwave. Repeat cycle-cook, Cool...cook, cool...until hot dog slices are dried out. (Microwaves vary, so cooking cycle time may vary.) Cool or freeze to use as needed.
Grilled Hot Dog Treats
When I cook our turkey dogs on the gas grill, I put some on for the dogs. Then I dry them out in the microwave, like above, then the dogs have grilled hot dog treats.
Our dogs love them, even our cat, can't resist them!
